San Leandro Arts Commission Presents Comedy in the Plaza :Second Annual Free Event featuring the Funniest Comedians Locally and Throughout the Country

San Leandro, CA – In partnership with the City of San Leandro and the San Leandro Arts Commission, award-winning actor, playwright, comedian, and talk show host Brian Copeland is producing the second annual Comedy in the Plaza, a free public event on July 16, 2022, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The event features some of Copeland’s favorite comedians including, Carlos Alazraqui (“Reno 911”), Laurie Kilmartin (“Last Comic Standing,” finalist and “The Conan O’Brien Show” staff writer), Joe Klocek (“Comedy Central”), Kate Robards (writer for “TIME Magazine 100 Most Important People”, an ABC Special), Johnny Steele (Winner of San Francisco International Comedy Competition), and Brian Copeland. 
 
“The Arts Commission is delighted to host the largest live comedy event ever held in San Leandro,” stated Arts Commission Chair Erika Garcia. “Laughter is medicine for the soul and something we all need given everything that’s been happening in the world. It is a privilege to provide this type of cheerful relief and connection to our community.”   
 
Street parking is available nearby, and it is strongly recommended to arrive early to secure a good spot with a blanket or low-back lawn chair.
