Lee Thomas, City
Councilmember, District 3
Lee and his wife, Ida, have two daughters and live in the Floresta neighborhood of San Leandro. Lee was born and raised in San Francisco and moved to San Leandro in 2006.
Lee has dedicated nearly twenty years of service to working with at-risk youth and families in both the public and the private sector. Lee has worked for organizations and agencies such as the San Francisco Unified School District, City of East Palo Alto, YMCA of San Francisco and YMCA of Silicon Valley.
Lee is a Red Cross Certified CPR and First Aid Instructor and often teaches classes for organizations in the community.
Lee earned a B.S Degree in Organizational Behavior and Leadership from the University of San Francisco and an MPA in Public Administration from Golden Gate University.
Before being elected to City Council, Lee served as the President of the Floresta’s Homeowners Association. He served on several Boards and Commissions such as San Leandro Human Services Commission, San Leandro Board of Zoning Adjustments, San Leandro Citizen Advisory Board for the Marina Shoreline Project, and as Vice Chair of the Police Chief Advisory Board. Lee was actively involved in helping pass Measure Z and a School Parcel tax in San Leandro.
