This is the first annual Association of Manufacturers Bay Area Summit, which will be held on May 24 from 11am to 3pm at the Oakland Scottish Rite Center. The Association of Manufacturers Bay Area (AMBayArea) is a trade group dedicated to addressing the daily challenges that Bay Area manufacturers face. AMBayArea formed in 2018 when the East Bay Advanced Manufacturing Partnership (EBAMP) and East Bay Manufacturing Group (EBMG) joined together to combine their resources and focus their efforts. AMBayArea members benefit from Workforce Development, Member Education, Group Purchasing, Collaboration, and Grassroots Advocacy. The summit will feature discussions on a number of important topics, including tax reform, supply chain management, and implementing technology and efficiencies. It will also feature a panel on efforts that are being made in workforce development. Finding, hiring, and keeping good, skilled employees is one of the most common concerns we hear from you. This panel will feature several local resources, including representatives from the Oakland Workforce Development Board and Laney College, as well as our own Eduardo Nava, who is the new Manufacturing Technology Teacher at San Leandro High School. These educators are looking to connect with you so that they can ensure that they are training students in the skills that you need today.
