Supervisor Nate Miley, District 4, Board of Supervisors
Nate Miley was elected to the Alameda County Board of Supervisors in November 2000. He was re-elected for a fourth term in 2012. Nate earned a reputation as a “maverick” who proactively worked with the community and his colleagues to address some of the city’s long-standing issues around problem liquor stores, crime, and community development.
Dr. Patrick Arbore, Center for Elderly Suicide Prevention
Founder and Director for Elderly Suicide Prevention and Grief Related Services (CESP), a program of the Institute on Aging in San Francisco. Dr. Arbore conducts workshops and presents lectures locally and nationally on aging related subjects. He is the author of numerous articles on suicide prevention, bereavement, suffering and other related topics.
Pastor Betty Clark- Spiritual Care Advisory Senior Moments, Chaplains Without Walls
Chaplain Betty Clark is the founding Pastor of The Church Without Walls, Oakland, where she has served for ten years. She has a master degree in Divinity from the Graduate Theological Union at Berkeley, CA. She has worked as a Hospice Chaplain for sixteen years. Her training includes mediation, grief counseling, crisis counseling and spiritual counseling.
